_Fairwinds Ladies League is an 18-hole ladies golf league that plays at Fairwinds Golf Course in Fort Pierce, Florida, every Thursday morning.

Fairwinds Women’s Golf Association By-laws in their entirety can be found on the bulletin board.  Here are some of our by-laws that are used on a frequent basis.

Section II  The dues will be determined by the Executive Committee each April, after the current budget is reviewed.


Section III  #1  All members must have an established computerized USGA handicap of 34.5 which equates to 36 from the forward tees.  If handicap goes higher than 34.5, they shall play at a handicap of 36 from the forward tees.

#4  New members (those new members who are not in the GHIN system) may establish a USGA handicap at Fairwinds GHIN system.  After at least 5 adjusted gross scores have been posted, the Club will issue a Handicap Index to the player in accordance with the USGA handicap system. Twenty scores posted are required to participate in League payouts for Prize money.

Section IV  Member Obligations

  #1  All members with an established USGA handicap who have played at least 10 league rounds at Fairwinds, within the current or previous season, (at least 4 of these rounds must be played in the current season) shall be eligible to play in the President’s Cup (low net) championship.

#2  All members with an established USGA handicap who have played at least 10 league rounds at Fairwinds, within the current season or previous season, (at least 4 of these rounds must be played in the current season), shall be eligible to play in the Club Championship (low gross).

#3  Advance sign-up is in the preceding month.  Members are responsible for keeping this sign-up sheet accurate.

 

                    
Golf Etiquette
  1.  Play Ready Golf.
  2. Be Ready, have your club selected and in your hand.
  3.  Rake the sand, repair ball marks, and fill in divots with sand.
  4. Player whose ball is closest to the pin tends the pin.  Player FIRST in the cup, replaces the flag.
  5. Walk BRISKLY off the green when finished.
  6. Wait until the next tee TO REPLACE YOUR CLUBS IN YOUR BAG AND FILL IN THE SCORECARD.
  7. KEEP UP WITH the group IN FRONT of you.  Your group should be one shot behind.
  8. BE COURTEOUS TO YOUR FELLOW PLAYERS.
  9. Cancellation Policy

_ Members must notify the Message Center, 772-460-2957, of any cancellation by 3PM on Tuesday.  After 3PM on Tuesday, all changes must be made with the Pro Shop 772-462-1955. 

In case of emergencies, the Pro Shop may be called the morning of play.  Cold weather shall not constitute a valid reason for cancellation the morning of scheduled play. (WATCH YOUR WEATHER FORECAST).  The Cart Path Only List will be in effect.  Failure to notify the Pro Shop the first time shall result in a warning, the second time Greens Fees will be payable to the course (play will be suspended until paid) and the third time shall result in termination from FWGA.

 
The Weekly Events Committee members are  Lee West and Nancy Long. They may cancel, postpone, or substitute any scheduled event due to weather, course conditions, or number of participating members.

Rain Check Policy
The rain check policy at Fairwinds is do not
go beyond number 3 for a full 18 hole rain
check (monetary value) and do not go beyond number 11 for a 9 hole rain check (monetary value).  If it should start to rain while playing, you may, at your own discretion, decide to stop which will X you out of the day’s tournament.
